INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE
PRELIMINARY INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE OPERATION:
Check all Dustubes from the bottom to see that they seal properly.
Roll the shaker device over by hand, seeing that no parts are binding and that all bolts are tight.
See that all pipes are tightly fastened to the housing and that any pipes or conduits entering the housing are sealed
airtight at their entrance.
Coat the ends of the shaker pins with #40 motor oil.
INSPECTION AT START OF OPERATION:
Check the direction of the fan to be sure it is pulling air through the collector.
Watch operation of shaker device for a final check on alinement and adjustment.
After the first day's operation, inspect the cell plate floor for dust accumulation. If dust is found, check the Dustubes
and cell plate joints in the area.
Hoppers should be emptied at least once a day when exhaust fan is not running. Make sure hopper valves are
closed after emptying.
Shaker device should be operated once or twice daily for about two minutes when exhaust fan is not running. As a
general rule, the shaker device should be operated when the manometer shows 1" to 2" difference in the level of
Visually check the rotating equipment and drives for signs of jamming, leakage, broken parts, wear, etc.
An inspection of the Dustubes takes very little time and will prevent a worn tube from cutting out those adjacent. An
