4. Further inspect latch assembly by insuring that the bayonet-knife assembly
is retained securely on the bayonet lug of the rifle. The bayonet should mount
and dismount without interference. If latch assembly doesn’t function properly,
repair the latch assembly. Refer to paragraph 2-11B. of this manual.
