Rope, Kernmantle, 7-millimeter (Accessory Cord, Marine Use)
Nylon, semi-static kernmantle rope (Figure 30) is primarily used to form anchors around trees and rocks
and as a cord for friction knots. It is usually cut in 15-foot sections using an electric rope cutter.

Rope, Kernmantle, 11-millimeter (Dynamic Climbing Rope, Marine Use)
Nylon, dynamic, kernmantle rope (Figure 31) is 60 meters in length and treated to prevent water
absorption. It is primarily used for lead climbing and consists of a braided sheath woven over a twisted-
strand, high-energy absorbing core.
