Life Raft Removed From Container Assembly.
1. Installation of CO2 Inflation Assembly
Protective Cover. To install the CO2 inflation
assembly protective cover, proceed as follows:
a. Open life raft assembly. Then position
assembly on a flat surface.
b. Remove CO2 cylinder from valve assembly
IAW Step 2a of this paragraph.
c.
Remove inflator cap nut and inflation valve
from the raft. Discard the two gaskets on the
valve stem. Remove damaged inflation
assembly protective cover. Remove seat seal
gasket from the inflator valve.
d.
Lightly coat base of piercing pin with silicone
lubricant (D16).
e.
Place inflation valve protective cover upon
the life raft. Ensure that inlet manifold stem
hole is aligned as shown.
NOTE
When replacing gaskets, ensure that the top
gasket has a larger internal diameter than the
bottom gasket.
f.
Reinstall inflation valve on life raft using new
gaskets from Kit 105AS100-5. Install new
seat seal gasket.
g.
Install cap nut and torque to 25 inch lbs.
h.
Install CO2 cylinder IAW step 2 this
paragraph. Threads on CO2 cylinder will
point towards top of raft.
