(b) Loop chape. Replace a damaged upper or lower loop chape with a 7-inch (17.8 cm) length of
1-inch (2.54 cm) type III cotton webbing as follows:
1. Cut stitching, and remove damaged chape and loops. When removing upper loop chape be
careful not to cut stitching that secures triangular loop chape to case.
