c. Cleaning. Clean the water heater blower
using dry compressed air and a clean cloth. d.
Inspection and Repair.
(1) Inspect all parts for damage.
(2) Replace all damaged parts.
e. Assembly.
(1) Install the plate (20, fig. 5-13) on the
motor (18) and secure with screws (19).
(2) Install the motor and plate onto the
blower housing (21) and secure with lockwashers (17)
and capscrews (16).
(3) Reconnect all electrical wiring and
conduit going to the motor.
(4) Install the key (15).
(5) Install the wheel (14) and secure with
setscrew (13).
(6) Install the coupling (12) and secure with
setscrew (11).
(7) Install the stop pin (10) and bracket (9),
secure with lockwashers (8) and capscrews (7).
(8) Install the shutter (6).
(9) Install the spring (5), washer (4) and pin
(3) and secure with washer (2) and cotter pin (1).
f. Installation Refer to figure 5-10 and install the
burner blower and motor.
5-5. Water Heater Burner Blower Motor
a. Removal. Refer to paragraph 5-4, figure 5-13,
and remove the motor.
b. Disassembly.
(1) Remove the bolts (1, fig. 5-14) and
remove the end cap (2).
(2) Remove the armature unit from the
housing (3).
(3) Remove the bearings (4 and 6) and
spring (5) from the armature (7) shaft.
