A. Drain LADS and System Shutdown -- Continued.
29. Drain residual water from plumbing as follows:
a. Open petcocks (20) on both water pumps (21).
b. Remove four caps (22) from water manifolds (23).
c. Press MENU SELECTION switch (WP 0008 00, Figure 2, 7) to continue drain cycle.
d. Lift up on hoses (24) to allow water to drain towards water manifolds (23).
NOTE
The control system will wait several minutes to allow residual water to drain. The
control system will then automatically open and close all control valves several times
to complete the drain cycle. This will take about 5 minutes. When a continuous
audible alarm sounds this indicates the drain cycle is complete.
e. Wait for residual water to drain. When audible alarm (WP 0008 00, Figure 2, 5) sounds press SILENCE
ALARM switch (4) on operator panel A.
f. Monitor display (6), it should read:
CYCLE COMPLETE
SHUTDOWN
g. Install four caps (22) and close petcocks (20).
30. Position CONTROL POWER switch (WP 0008 00, Figure 1, 3) to OFF.
31. Position MAIN DISCONNECT switch (1) to OFF.
32. Push in on EMERGENCY STOP switch (5).
33. Discontinue operation of MEP--805A generator on--line (TM 9--6115--644--10) or remove external power as
required.
34. Drain residual water from distillate plumbing as follows:
e. Open eight petcocks (25) on subcooler (26).
f. Open petcock (27) at bottom of coalescer (28).
g. Open petcock (29) on distillate pump (30).
h. Allow water to drain then close petcocks (25), (27), and (29).
35. Open petcock (31) on air compressor (32). Allow water to drain then close petcock (31).
36. Close petcock (33) at bottom of main control enclosure (34).
37. Close drain valve (18) on side of still (19) where hose (17) is connected.
