buckle (11) for adjustment. Three snap fastener eyelets conforming to drawing 4-1-178 (81337) (15) are attached
to the upper, and three more to the lower edge of the removable pocket.
The handle on the medic bag is made of a 9 ½-inch length of 2-inch-wide webbing conforming to MIL-W-4088
(16). The bag and its components are constructed using Size F Thread conforming to V-T-295 (17), however,
bartacking and binding tape seams require Size E Thread, also conforming to V-T-295 (18). Slide fastener pull-
tabs are made of 11/32-inch webbing conforming to MIL-B-371 (19). A metal grommet conforming to MIL-G-
16491 (20) located on the bottom of the main compartment serves as drain. A 1-inch metal loop (10) on the inner
pocket handle allows length adjustments. Pull tabs of 9/16 inch binding tape conforming to MIL-T-5038 (21), and
snap fasteners (15), located at the lower end of the straps allow for quick opening of the quick release fasteners
on the suspenders. One inch-wide elastic webbing conforming to MIL-W-5664 (22) is used for the keepers on the
lower suspender straps.
The medical pouch is constructed of textured nylon duck cloth (1) with a clear polyurethane backing. The pouch
employs a black plastic chain slide fastener closure (2). A 2-inch-long hook fastener tape conforming to MIL-F-
21840G.(3) is sewn onto a closure strap, that closes onto a 2-inch-long pile fastener tape also conforming to MIL-
F-21840G.(4)), sewn onto the front of the pocket. An additional 2-inch strip of pile tape (4) is sewn onto the
closure flap. Two lengths of 1-inch webbing (5) are sewn to the back of the pocket and bartacked at 1 ¾-inch
intervals. The slide fastener pull-tab is made of 11/32-inch-wide black nylon webbing conforming to MIL-B-371F
(6). Snap fastener buttons conforming to drawing 4-1-178 (81337) (7) are installed on the outer edge of the
straps, which mate with studs conforming to the same drawing, attached to the lower back of the pouch. Two 1 ½
-inch-long 1-inch webbing (5) loops are sewn onto the sides of the pouch. A grommet conforming to MIL-G-16491
(8) is installed in the bottom of the pouch to serve as a drain. The medical pouch is constructed using Size F
Thread conforming to V-T-295 (9), except bartacks, which require Size E Thread also conforming to V-T-295 (10).
Two attachment straps made of 1-inch webbing (5) and folded to enclose a 5 ½-inch length of .030polyethylene
stiffening material, high density, natural color (11) are sewn to the upper back of the pouch. The closure strap is
made of 2-inch-wide bulked nylon webbing conforming to MIL-W-17337 (12).
