Cleaning.
WARNING
Clean all parts in a well-ventilated
area. Avoid inhalation of solvent
fumes and prolonged exposure of
skin to cleaning solvent. Wash
exposed
skin
thoroughly.
Dry
cleaning solvent (Fed. Spec. P-D-680)
used to clean parts is potentially
dangerous
to
personnel
and
property. Do not use near open
flame or excessive heat. Flash point
of solvent is 100 to 138F. (38 to 59C.).

Clean
metal
parts
with
cleaning
solvent, Fed. Spec. P-D-680, and dry thoroughly.
(2)
Clean
electrical
parts
with
dry
compressed air and a clean cloth.

Inspection and Repair.
(1)
Inspect the control box for cracks,
breaks, dents and other damage.
(2)
Weld
minor
cracks
or
breaks,
straighten any dents, replace any missing or damaged
hardware and an unrepairable control box.

Assembly.
(1)
Refer to paragraph 6-2 and install the
formatrol assembly.
(2)
Refer to the following instructions and
install the controls and instruments in the control box.
(a)
Reversing Switch. Refer to
figure 6-4 or 6-5 and install the reversing switch.
(b)
Magnetic Control Solenoid
and Air Valves. Refer to figure 6-4 or 6-5 and install
the magnetic control solenoid and air valves.
(c)
Relay. Refer to figure 6-4 or 6-
5 and install the relay.
(d)
Transformer. Refer to figure 6-
4 or 65 and install the transformer.
(e)
Fuseholder. Refer to figure 6-
4 or 6-5 and install the fuseholder.
(f)
Extractor Starter. Refer to
figure 6-4 or 6-5 and install the extractor starter.
(g)
Terminal Block. Refer to
figure 6-4 or 6-5 and install the terminal block.
(h)
Reversing Timer. Refer to
figure 6-4 or 6-5 and install the signal switch.
(i)
Signal Switch. Refer to figure
6-4 or 6-5 and install the cold water switch.
(k)
Hot Water Switch. Refer to
figure 6-4 or 6-5 and install the hot water switch.
(l)
Extract Switch. Refer to figure
6-4 or 6-5 and install the extract switch.

Brake-Drain Switch. Refer to

Refer to figure 6-4 and install the wash and pre-extract

Auto-Manual Switch. Refer to

Installation.
(1)
Install the control box assembly (20,
fig. 63) and secure to the trailer with lockwashers (19),
bolts (18), washers (17) and nuts (16).
(2)
Install the lockwashers (15)
and
bolts (14) securing the control box assembly (20) to the
hose guard.
(3)
Install and reconnect the wires (12)
and tighten the connectors.
(4)
Position the cover (10) onto the
junction box (11) and secure with screws (9).
(5)
Reconnect the wires (7 and 8) to
proper components within the control box assembly.
(6)
Position the cover (5) onto the
junction box (6) and secure with screws (4).
(7)
Position the cover (2) onto the conduit
receptacle (3) and secure with screws (1).
(8)
Install the control box door (2, fig. 6-1)
and secure with latches (1).
