Cleaning.
WARNING
Clean all parts in a well-ventilated
area. Avoid inhalation of solvent
fumes and prolonged exposure of
skin to cleaning solvent. Wash
exposed
skin
thoroughly.
Dry
cleaning solvent (Fed. Spec. P-D-680)
used to clean parts is potentially
dangerous
to
personnel
and
property. Do not use near open
flame or excessive heat. Flash point
of solvent is 100 to 138F. (38 to 59C.).
(1)
Clean all metal parts with cleaning
solvent, Fed. Spec. P-D-680, and dry thoroughly.
(2)
Clean all non-metallic and electrical
parts with dry compressed air and a clean cloth.

Inspection and Repair.
(1)
Inspect all parts for wear, defects and
other damage.
(2)
Repair and/or replace all damaged
parts as necessary.
d.
Assembly and Installation.
(1)
Install the gasket (42, fig. 7-3) and
front head sheet (41) and secure with screws (40).
(2)
Install the seal (39), gasket (38) and
clamp ring (37).
(3)
Install the door glass (36), gasket (35)
and clamping ring (34) and secure with screws (33).
(4)
Install the hinger bracket (32) and
secure with rivets (31).
(5)
Install the lockwasher (30) and screw
(29).
(6)
Install the bushings (27) in the door
(28).
(7)
Install the door assembly (26) and pin
(25) and secure with cotter pins (24).
(8)
Install the sensitive switch (23) on the
front head sheet (41) and secure with lockwasher, (22)
and screws (21).
(9)
Install the locknut (20! and elbow (19)
on the sensitive switch (23). then connect all conduit.
(10)
Install the lock clamping cylinder (18)
and secure with lockwashers (17) and screws (16).
(11)
Install the door lock support (15) and
se cure with rivets (14).
(12)
Install the door lock catch (13) and
secure with stud (12).
(13)
Install the door handle support (11)
and secure with rivets (10).
(14)
Install the washer door handle (9) and
secure with stud (8).
(15)
Install the door latch link (7) and
secure with pins (3 and 6), washers (2 and 5) and cotter
pins (1 and 4).

Washer Cylinder
a.
Removal.
(1)
Remove the allen head screw (1, fig.
7-4), lockwasher (2) and lockplate (3) securing the
washer cylinder to the washer extractor.
(2)
Two 3/8 inch (0.9525 cm) tapped
holes are provided in the cylinder hub for attaching a
wheel puller. Use the puller to start the cylinder (4) and
then carefully remove it from the washer-extractor.
