Cleaning.
WARNING
Clean all parts in a well-ventilated
area. Avoid inhalation of solvent
fumes and prolonged exposure of
skin to cleaning solvent. Wash
exposed
skin
thoroughly.
Dry
clearing solvent (Fed. Spec. P-D-680)
used to clean parts is potentially
dangerous
to
personnel
and
property. Do not use near open
flame or excessive heat. Flash point
of solvent is 100 to 138F. (38 to 59C.).
Clean all parts of the washer-extractor frame and
related parts, using cleaning solvent, Fed. Spec. P-D-
680, and dry thoroughly.

Inspection and Repair.
(1)
Inspect the frame, supports and
spring brackets for cracks, chips, dents and other
damage. Weld any cracks and straighten any dents in
the frame, supports or spring brackets.
(2)
Replace all missing or damaged
hardware.

Assembly.
NOTE
The following step applies to the
Edro Model EP-120-LTU laundry unit
only.
(1)
Install pull handle (52, fig. 7-7) on the
washer-extractor frame (48) and secure with washers
(51), screws (50) and nuts (49).
(2)
Install the elbow (47, fig. 7-7) on the
washer-extractor frame (48).
(3)
Install the nipple (46) and plug (45) on
the flange.
(4)
Install the gasket (44) and drain valve
flange (43) and secure with flatwashers (42), screws
(41), flatwashers (40), lockwashers (39) and nuts (38).
(5)
Install the retainers (37) and secure
with lockwashers (36), capscrews (35) and nuts (34).
(6)
Install the strap unit (33).
(7)
Install the overflow hose pipe plate
(32) and secure with lockwashers (31) and capscrews
(30).
(8)
Install the catch strike (29) and secure
with screws (28).
(9)
Install the plate (27), gasket (26) and
hinge (25) and secure with screws (24).
(10)
Install the chute cover assembly (23)
and secure with screws (22).
(11)
Install the brackets (21) and secure
with flatwashers (20), lockwashers (19) and capscrews
(18).
(12)
Install the cord grips (16 and 17).
(13)
Install the bracket (15) and secure
with flatwashers (14), lockwashers (9) and capscrews
(8).
(14)
Install the bracket (11) and secure
with flatwashers (10), lockwashers (9) and capscrews
(8).
(15)
Install the nipple (7), hose clamp (6)
and rubber hose (5), then tighten the hose clamp screw.
(16)
Install the nipple (4), tee (3), elbows
(2) and hose nipples (1) on the washer-extractor frame
(48).

Removal and Disassembly.
(1)
Remove
the
nuts
(1,
fig.
7-8),
grommets (2), bolts (3), flatwashers (4) and grommets
(5) and remove the shock absorbers (6).
(2)
Remove the compression springs (7
and 8), if required.
(3)
Remove the nuts (9), lockwashers
(10), flatwashers (11), lockwashers (12), capscrews (13
and 15) and lockwashers (14 and 16) and remove the
washer-extractor base (17) from the trailer.
