REMOVAL -- Continued
12. Measure and record distance from rear face of tapered bushing (10) to end of drive shaft (17).
13. Loosen set screw (18) on tapered bushing (10), then remove bushing from drive shaft (17) using bearing puller.
14. Remove machine key (19) from drive shaft (17).
15. Remove two screws (20) and lock washers (21), then remove brackets (22) from cover (23).
16. Remove four remaining screws (20) and lock washers (21) securing cover (23) to housing (24).
17. Slide dust seal (25) and cover (23) off of drive shaft (17).
18. Remove four screws (26), spacers (27), lock washers (28), and nuts (29) securing housing (24) to bearing
support frame (16).
19. Straighten tab (30) on retainer (31).
20. Unthread spanner nut (32) from drive shaft (17) using bearing removal tool.
21. Slide bearing removal tool onto drive shaft (17) then drive bearing (33) forward until it is free from inner race
(34).
22. Slide inner race (34) off of drive shaft (17).
23. Slide housing (24) and bearing (33) off of drive shaft (17).
24. Slide dust seal (35) off of drive shaft (17).
25. Remove bearing (33) from housing (24).
26. Remove six screws (36) and lock washers (37) securing cover (38) to housing (24).
27. Wipe residual dirt and grease off of drive shaft (17), covers (23 and 38), housing (24), dust seals (24 and 35),
retainer (31), spanner nut (32), and inner race (34).
28. Inspect dust seals (25 and 35) for cuts or cracks replace if damaged.
29. Inspect spanner nut (32) for damage to threads replace if damaged.
30. Inspect inner race (34) for scratches or defects on surface where bearing rides replace if damaged.
