DRUM MOTOR REPLACEMENT -- Continued

REMOVAL -- Continued
6. Cut tiedown straps (12) securing cooling fan cable (13) to motor cable (9).
7. Loosen two clamps (14) then pull motor cable (9) out of clamps.
8. Remove water pump (WP 0144 00).
9. Remove drum rotation sensor (WP 0118 00).
10. Remove drive belt (WP 0117 00).
WARNING
Drum sheave is heavy and hard to handle. Provide adequate support under sheave before
removing. Failure to follow this precaution could result in serious personnel injury or
equipment damage.
11. Remove three screws (15) and lock washers (16) securing drum sheave (17) to tapered bushing (18).
12. Thread three screws (15) and lock washers (16) into jacking holes (19) then evenly tighten screws until drum
sheave (17) breaks loose from tapered bushing (18).
13. Remove three screws (15) and lock washers (16) from jacking holes (19).
14. Lift drum sheave (17) off of tapered bushing (18).
15. Remove four screws (20), lock washers (21), and flat washers (22), then remove rear belt guard (23) from
bearing support frame (24).
17. Measure distance from rear edge mounting plate (25) to rear edge of mounting angles (26). Record
measurement as dimensions A and B.
18. Remove six screws (27), lock washers (28), and nuts (29) securing mounting plate (25) to mounting angles
(26).
19. Remove two screws (30), lock washers (31), and nuts (32) securing right side of motor (33) to mounting plate
(25).
20. Remove motor (33) and attached mounting plate (25) from bearing support frame (24) as follows:
a. Lift mounting plate (25) up off of mounting angles (26).
b. Ensure lifting eye (34) is clear of notches (35) in bearing support frame (24).
c. Slide mounting plate (25) out of bearing support frame (24).
21. Measure distance from edge of tapered bushing (36) to end of shaft (37). Record measurement as dimension
C.
22 Remove three screws (38) securing sheave (39) to tapered bushing (36).
23.Thread three screws (38) into jacking holes (40), then evenly tighten until sheave (39) separates from tapered
bushing (36).
24. Remove three screws (38) from jacking holes (40).
25. Loosen set screw (41) then remove tapered bushing (36) and key (42) using a bearing puller.
26. Remove four screws (43), then remove cover (44) and gasket (45) from junction box (46).
27. Tag and disconnect motor cable (9) at junction box (46).
28. Remove conduit nut (47), then pull cord grip (48) and motor cable (9) out of junction box (46).
29. Remove two screws (49), lock washers (50), and nuts (51) securing left side of motor (33) to mounting plate
(25), then lift motor off of mounting plate.
