3-55. LID LOCKED SOLENOID AND LINKAGE.

WARNING
Voltage in this equipment is high enough to cause
serious injury or death. Do not perform this task
with power on.

REMOVAL
(1)
Tag and disconnect wires from solenoid (8).
(2)
Remove cotter pin (1), grommets (2 and 3) and shoulder pin (4).
(3)
Remove four screws (5), lockwashers (6), flat washers (7) and solenoid (8) from enclosure (20)
(4)
Remove retaining ring (9), spring (10) and arm (16).
(5)
Remove cotter pin (11), pin (12), link (13), screw (14) and grease fitting (15) from arm (16).

INSTALLATION
(1)
Install screw (14), grease fitting (15), pin (12), link (13) and cotter pin (11) on arm (16). Screw (14) will almost
touch cam (19).
(2)
Position arm (16) on stud (17) in control panel (20) and secure with retaining ring (9).
(3)
Position solenoid (8) in enclosure (20) and secure with four screws (5), lockwashers (6) and flat washers (7).
(4)
Line up link (13) with holes on top of solenoid (8) and install shoulder pin (4), two grommets (2 and 3) and
cotter pin (1).
NOTE
Wire numbers are stamped on each electrical wire.
This information, in conjunction with data on FO-3
Extractor Wiring Diagram, may be used to connect
wires if tags are lost or illegible.
(5)
Connect wires to solenoid (8) as tagged.
(6)
Install spring (10) onto link (13) and bracket (18) in top of enclosure (20).
(7)
Perform adjustment procedure (Para 3-50).
(8)
Install cover (Para 3-42).
