Axe, Ice
The basic mountaineering ice axe (Figure 7) has many uses: to self-arrest when falling on steep snow or
angled ice, to plunge into snow as an aid for balance and movement, as an ice anchor, and to chop steps
in ice or hard packed snow. It has a removable leash.

Bag, Assault Climber
The assault climber bag (Figure 8) has Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment (MOLLE) weave
and will hold one dynamic climbing rope or one complete set of chocks, camming devices, and carabiners.
