FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT -- Continued

INSTALLATION
1. Remove plugs (30) from new fuel pump (24).
2. Install bypass plug (31) into return port (32) on fuel pump (24).
3. Apply pipe thread sealant to threads of adapters (13 and 16), nipple (27), and pressure gauge (28).
4. Thread adapters (13 and 16) into fuel pump (24).
5. Thread nipple (27) into fuel pump (24).
6. Thread pressure gauge (28) into fuel pump (24).
7. Position drive shaft (25) onto fuel pump (24) at previously recorded dimension, then tighten set screw (26).
8. Insert fuel pump (24) into air damper (21), then secure with four set screws (23).
9. Position air damper (21) onto filter box (22), then install, but do not tighten screws (18), flat washers (19) and
retaining clips (20).
10. Align air damper (21) so that adapter (13 and 16) are pointing straight down then tighten screws (18).
11. Install a new coupling insert (29) onto drive shaft (25).
12. Position blower (6) onto blower shroud (3) ensuring that coupling (29) is properly mated.
13. Secure blower (6) to blower shroud with six nuts (4) and flat washers (5).
14. Slowly spin blower wheel (33) and check for correct alignment between blower (6) and fuel pump (24). If
alignment is not correct repeat steps 10 through 13.
15. Position cover (2) onto blower shroud (3), then secure with eight screws (1).
16. Connect fuel tube (15) at adapter (16) and elbow (17).
17. Connect fuel tube (12) at adapter (13) and elbow (14).
18. Connect fuel tube (9) at adapter (10) and elbow (11).
19. Connect fuel tube (7) at elbow (8).
20. Install and adjust fuel pressure switch (WP 0185 00).
