REMOVAL
WARNING
Thermal fluid can reach temperatures near 400o F when the heating system is operating.
Allow thermal fluid and heating system piping to cool prior to performing maintenance.
Always wear gloves and eye protection. Failure to follow this precaution could result in
severe personal burn injuries.
WARNING
The fuels used on the heating system are highly explosive. DO NOT smoke or use open
flame when performing maintenance. Flames and explosion could occur resulting in severe
personal injury or death.
1. Remove thermal fluid pump strainer (WP 0170 00).
2. Place clean container under drain plug (1) on thermal fluid pump (2).
3. Remove drain plug (1). Allow thermal fluid to drain, then reinstall drain plug.
4. Slide inlet screen (3) out of air box (4).
5. Disconnect fuel hoses (5 and 6) from quick--connect fittings (7 and 8).
6. Disconnect fuel line (9) from elbows (10 and 11), then remove fuel line.
7. Remove two screws (12), lock washers (13), and nuts (14), then remove fuel filter (15) from air box (4).
8. Hold handle (16) on isolation valve (17) closed then remove nut (18).
9. Remove handle (16).
10. Remove two screws (19), then remove cover (20) and gasket (21) from outlet body (22).
11. Tag and disconnect wires from thermal fluid pump (2) at outlet body (22).
12. Remove screw (23) and clamp (24) securing conduit (25) to heater shell (26).
13. Loosen conduit nut (27) then pull conduit (25) and wiring out of outlet body (22).
