The sleep system carrier is constructed of textured nylon duck cloth conforming to MIL-C-43734 (1), with a clear
polyurethane backing. A collar made of nylon cloth conforming to MIL-C-43128 (2) is sewn around the top of the
carrier. A tunnel around the top of the collar contains a draw cord conforming to MIL-C-5040G, Type IIA (3) that
exits the tunnel through two eyelets conforming to MIL-E-20652 (4). The collar is closed with a cord lock
conforming to drawing 2-6-104 (81337) (5). Two 1 ½-inch web cinch straps conforming to MIL-STD-17337 (6) are
sewn to the cover of the carrier. These straps are held on the carrier with a series of retainer loops made of 1-inch
webbing, conforming to MIL-W-43668 (7), that are located on the cover, the back, and the front of the carrier.
Loops of the same material secure a D-Ring conforming to ITW P/N 110-0100 (8) on each side and 1-inch slides
conforming to drawing 2-6-102 (9) at each bottom corner of the carrier. An 8-inch length of 1 ½ -inch web strap
handle (6) is box stitched over the cinch straps where they are sewn to the cover, using Size E Thread
conforming to V-T-295 (10). The edges of the carrier cover as well as those of the non-reflective slide-in nametag
holder are secured with 1-inch binding tape conforming to MIL-T-5038 (11) using Size E Thread (10). An eyelet
conforming to MIL-E-20652/1B (12) is installed in the bottom panel of the carrier to serve as a drain. Except as
indicated above, the sleep system carrier is constructed using Size F Thread conforming to V-T-295 (13). The
cinch straps are secured with 1 ½-inch side release buckles conforming to ITW PN 101-1050-5614 (14). A slide in
nametag holder is covered with 0.020 thick polyethylene conforming to L-P-378D (15).
