The body of the 40mm HE single grenade pouch is constructed of two pieces of textured nylon duck cloth
conforming to MIL-C-43734 (1), using Size F Thread conforming to V-T-295 (2). The front piece, which is slightly
larger, is sewn onto the back piece forming pleats that create a pocket. The edges of the pouch are lined with 1-
inch-wide binding tape conforming to MIL-T-5038 (3) using Size E Thread conforming to V-T-295 (4). Snap
fastener eyelets and studs conforming to drawing 4-1-178 (81337) (5) are installed at the ends of the closure and
attaching straps. Two lengths of 1-inch webbing conforming to MIL-W-43668 (6) are sewn to the back of the
pouch and bartacked using Size E Thread (4) to serve as attaching points. An attaching strap of the same
material, and enclosing a length of polyethylene conforming to (L-P-378D) (7), is sewn onto the top of the pouch
and behind the 2-inch webbing. An eyelet/stud combination conforming to Drawing 4-1-178 (81337) (8) is sewn to
the bottom of the pouch to meet with the eyelet on the attaching strap. A length of 2-inch webbing conforming to
MIL-W-4088 (9) is sewn to the top front of the pocket to serve as closure. The 40mm HE and pyrotechnic double
pouches are constructed in the same manner, except for dimensional differences.
