COLD WEATHER ENVIRONMENT
Use caution if the rope is wet and frozen, as this may reduce the strength of the rope.
DUSTY ENVIRONMENT
Keep moving parts of MMK components -- such as carabiners, camming devices, and ascenders -- free
from dust. Rinse dusty equipment (except for the electronic equipment) with clean, cold water; and air dry
away from direct sunlight. Protect the electric rope cutter from dust buildup.
SALT WATER ENVIRONMENT
Many of the components of the MMKs will degrade or corrode after exposure to salt water. If exposure
occurs, clean the component (except for the electronic equipment) with clean, cold water, and air dry away
from direct sunlight.
CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, RADIOLOGICAL, AND NUCLEAR (CBRN) DECONTAMINATION
PROCEDURES
If any component of the MMK is exposed to any chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN)
contamination, dispose of the component in accordance with FM 3-11.3, Multiservice Tactics, Techniques,
and Procedures for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Contamination Avoidance.
