MMK AVALANCHE PROBE
ASSEMBLE/DISASSEMBLE

INTRODUCTION
The avalanche probe is stored in the shovel handle.
ASSEMBLE
1. Remove shovel handle by pressing spring-loaded button near top of shaft, and pull handle away from
shaft.

2. Remove probe from shaft.
3. Fully extend probe. Pull on cotter pin while firmly holding the first segment.
4. Slide cotter pin into locking system.
END OF TASK
DISASSEMBLE
1. Remove cotter pin from locking system.
2. Fold segments, starting from the probe tip continuing towards the cotter pin. Store probe back in
shovel handle, with cotter pin facing towards the handle for easy removal.
3. Attach handle to shovel shaft by pressing spring-loaded button and sliding handle onto shaft. Ensure
button pops out of button hole.
