c. Cleaning.
WARNING
Clean all parts in a well-ventilated
area. Avoid inhalation of solvent
fumes and prolonged exposure of
skin to cleaning solvent. Wash
exposed
skin
thoroughly.
Dry
cleaning solvent (Fed. Spec. P-D-
680) used to clean parts is potentially
dangerous
to
personnel
and
property. Do not use near open
flame or excessive heat. Flash point
of solvent is 100 to 138F. (38 to
59C.).
(1) Clean all metal parts with cleaning
solvent, Fed. Spec. P-D-680, and dry thoroughly.
(2) Clean non-metallic parts with dry
compressed air and a clean cloth.
d. Inspection and Repair.
(1) Inspect all parts for wear, defects and
damage.
(2) Replace defective pad, gaskets, seals,
or washers in air cylinder or replace air cylinder if not
repairable.
(3) Replace damaged or defective parts,
hardware, or mounting base as necessary.
e. Assembly.
(1) Insert the rod (23, fig. 7-19) into the
head (24) and secure with nut (22) and setscrew (21).
(2) Install the nut (20) and clevis (19) on the
rod (23) and secure the clevis with setscrew (18).
(3) Install the seat (17), spring (16), seat
(15), washer (14), pad (13), washer (12), collar (11), seal
(10) and retainer (9) on the rod (23) and secure with nut
(8).
(4) Install the body (7), gasket (6) and head
(5).
(5) Install the elbow (4) and stud (3) on the
head (5).
(6) Install the plug (2) on the head (5) and
secure with cotter pin (1).
f. Installation. Refer to figure 7-18 and install the
air cylinder.
7-12. Washer and Extractor Motors Base
NOTE
The following subparagraphs a thru apply to the EDRO
Model EP120-LTU laundry units only. In a similar
manner, perform the same steps for the EIDAL Model
ELT9T laundry unit.
a. Removal and Disassembly.
(1) Refer to paragraph 7-8 and remove the
washer motor and drive belts.
(2) Refer to paragraph 7-9 and remove the
extractor motor and hydro sheave.
(3) Refer to paragraph 7-10 and remove the
washer drive jackshaft assembly.
(4) Remove bolts (1, fig. 7-20) and
lockwashers (2) securing the motors base to the washer
extractor frame and remove motors base assembly (3).
(5) Remove cotter pin (4) straight pin (5)
and plug (6) securing air cylinder.
(6) Remove air cylinder (7).
(7) Remove ball joint (8) from motor base.
(8) Remove setscrew (9) and nut (10)
securing motor guide rod.
(9) Remove motor guide rod (11), drive
spring (12), and drive spring retainer (13).
(10) Remove guide rod (14) from washer
motor base (22).
(11) Remove screws (15) and motor base
guide (16) from motor base (22).
(12) Remove nuts (17), washers (18),
screws (19), washers (20), belt guard mounting brackets
(21) and remove washer motors base (22) from the
main drive base (26).
(13) Remove nut (23) and washer (24),
securing jackshaft leveler and remove jackshaft leveler
(25) from main drive base (26).
(14) Remove washer motor adjusting nut
(27) and screw (28) from washer motor base (22).
b. Cleaning.
