SUBCOOLER REPLACEMENT -- Continued

INSTALLATION
CAUTION
Be careful when installing subcooler not to damage fins. Bent fins will reduce the cooling
efficiency of the subcooler.
1. Apply pipe thread sealant to threads of petcocks (3).
2. Install eight petcocks (3) into new subcooler (4). Make sure petcocks are closed.
3. Position subcooler (4) onto frame (19), then secure with four screws (30), lock washers (31), and flat washers
(32).
4. Install retainer plates (29) then secure to frame (19) with two screws (26), lock washers (27), and flat washers
(28).
5. Slide hose (24) onto piping (25) then tighten clamp (23).
6. Reposition piping (21) then secure to distillate frame (22) by tightening clamp (20).
7. Position evaporative cooler (7) onto frame (19), then secure with four screws (16), lock washers (17), and flat
washers (18).
8. Install inlet screen (15) onto subcooler (4).
9. Connect hose (14) at top of subcooler (4) then tighten clamp (13).
10. Connect hose (12) at bottom of subcooler (4) then tighten clamp (11).
11. Connect hose (9) at piping (10) then tighten clamp (8).
12. Connect hose (6) at top of evaporative cooler (7) then tighten clamp (5).
13. Perform a HEAT WATER operation with a water temperature setpoint of 100 degrees F (TM 10--3510--221--10).
Verify no water leaks exist.
14. Close access door (2) and secure by engaging two latches (1).
