OIL HOUSING- continuedd.ADJUSTMENTCAUTIONIncorrect gap will damage drive unit.NOTEAdjustment consists of checking/obtaining correctgap between runner and clutch driver and requiresthat brake assembly is installed on unit(1)Remove fill plug (1).CAUTIONIf oil is spilled, drain oil and replace 40 ounces oflubricant. Too much or too little oil will result indamage to drive unit.(2)Use feeler gage thru fill hole and measure gap between runner (26) and clutch driver (25). Gap should be0.088 to 0.092 inch.(3)If gap is less than 0.088 or greater than 0.092, proceed as follows:(a)Remove rubber shaft seal (37).(b)Loosen three setscrews on shaft nut (38) and two setscrews on hub (39).(c)Loosen or tighten shaft nut (38). Tighten nut to widen gap and loosen nut and strike shaft with plastichammer to make gap smaller.(e)Measure gap to see if it changed. Adjust again, if necessary.(f)When gap is correct, turn nut (38) a maximum of 1/6 a turn either way to align any setscrew hole with flaton shaft. Install a setscrew in this hole and tighten.(g)Install additional setscrews in any of the five additional holes to prevent loss of screws.(h)Tighten two setscrews on hub (39).(i)Install rubber shaft seal (37).(4)Install fill plug (1).3-114
