UNIT MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Tie-down Provision: Inspect the tie-down provisions in the shelter floor for tightness, damage,
or corrosion. If damaged, refer to the replacement procedures in the following section.
REPLACE
Safety Strap: The side wing of the shelter must be in the lowered position to replace a safety
strap. Unbolt the strap from the shelter and retain the hardware. Install the new strap using the
retained hardware .
Tie-down Provision: Remove and discard the tie-down provision and the three attaching
screws (the replacement tie-down comes with new screws). Remove any dried caulking
compound from the recess in the floor, being careful not to damage the flooring material or the
screw holes.
Apply caulking compound (WP 0051, Table 1, Item 10) to the underside of the new tie-down
provision flange, around the outer edge of the flange, and inside the three screw holes.

CAUTION
The replacement tie-down provision must be oriented in the proper direction (see Figure
2). Failure to observe this caution may result in equipment damage from tie-down
provision failure.

Place the new tie-down provision in the floor recess and attach it using the three new screws.
Use the shortest screw in the center hole. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws.
