LEVELING VALVE REPLACEMENT -- Continued
0140 00
INSTALLATION
1. Thread two adapters (21) into new leveling valve (13).
2. Position leveling valve (13) onto pedestal (20), then secure with two screws (17), lock washers (18), and nuts
(19).
3. Align linkage (16) with leveling valve (13) then install clevis pin (15).
4. Install hair pin (14) to secure clevis pin (15).
5. Connect air lines (12) to leveling valve (8) as tagged.
6. Open manual valve (4).
7. Close access door (3) and secure by engaging two latches (2).
ADJUSTMENT
NOTE
Replacing or adjusting a leveling valve can effect the adjustment of the other leveling valve. Always
check the adjustment of both leveling valves before completing this procedure.
1. Use maintenance menu to pressurize air bags (WP 0010 00).
2. Measure distance between top of pedestal (20) and bottom of drum frame (22) on both sides of drum. If
measurements are 7--3/4 to 8 inches on each side and within 1/8 inch of each other proceed to step 12,
otherwise continue to step 3.
3. Remove hair pins (14 and 23) and from clevis pins (15 and 24).
4. Remove clevis pins (15 and 24) then pull linkage (16) off of leveling valve (13) and link bracket (25).
NOTE
Linkage must be shortened to lower level or lengthened to raise level. When adjusting linkage maintain
an equal amount of thread engagement at both ends of threaded rod. If linkage is already adjusted to the
maximum length it may be necessary to adjust linkage on opposite leveling valve.
5. Loosen jam nut (26) at one end of linkage (16).
6. Thread rod end (27) in or out as necessary to adjust length of linkage (16).
7. Ensure rod ends (27) are pointing in same direction then tighten jam nut (26).
8. Connect linkage (16) at link bracket (25) then install clevis pin (24).
9. Slide linkage (16) onto leveling valve (13) then install clevis pin (15).
10. Install hair pins (14 and 23) to secure clevis pins (15 and 24).
11. Repeat step 2.
NOTE
Step 12 applies to right front air bag on drum B only.
12. Install access panel (10) onto ISO frame (11), then secure with eight screws (7), flat washers (8), and nuts (9).
13. Perform a test laundry cycle (TM 10--3510--221--10). Verify smooth operation of drum.
