Type II webbing (Figure 38) is 1-inch tubular nylon. When cut into smaller lengths, it is used to extend a
piece of protection, such as an anchor, around trees and rocks, to tie a friction knot, and as a sling to carry
equipment.

EQUIPMENT DATA

strength given is certified by the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (Union
Internationale Des Associations D'Alpinisme (UIIA)). The service life is an estimate and assumes normal
use, normal conditions, and proper care. A blank service life means the duration is unknown, while
"varies" means the service life is highly dependent on usage.
