Rope, Kernmantle, 10-millimeter (Dynamic Climbing Rope, Army Use)
Nylon, dynamic, kernmantle rope (Figure 28) is 60 meters in length and treated to prevent water
absorption. It is primarily used for lead climbing and consists of a braided sheath woven over a twisted-
strand, high-energy absorbing core.

Nylon, static, kernmantle rope (Figure 29) is primarily used for rope installations such as rappels, high
lines, lowering lines, low-angle evacuation, and fixed ropes.
