CONTAINERIZED KITCHEN (WITH TRAILER)
UNIT MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
2. Route the cable around the reel as previously noted when removed. Thread the winch cable
through the round hole prior to the cable keeper mounting holes in the winch reel. Place the
cable end at least 1" past the two square holes in the reel. When cable is in proper location,
replace the cable keeper and secure it with two bolts and two hex nuts.
3. Place the winch assembly back into the wall of the CK. Avoid kinking or pinching the winch
cable. Push the winch assembly into place, making sure the tab on the winch frame slides
into the attachment bracket and the winch socket is in the wall cutout.

4. Replace the bolt, flat washer, and lock washer that attach the winch frame to the mounting
bracket on the CK. Temporarily tighten the bolt just enough to hold the winch in place.
Install the despooling bracket and fully tighten the bolt.
5. While one person inside is holding the cable to provide tension and guiding the winch cable
around the winch reel to assure proper cable alignment around the winch reel, another
person outside is cranking the winch handle. The cable should be wound smoothly and
evenly until the cable is taut. Secure and close the winch access panel.
6. To assure proper operation and tension on the winch cable, the CK wing should be raised
and lowered (or vice versa, depending on the position of the wing) 2 or 3 times. Refer to
WP 0006 00 for a
description of
raising/lowering the wing.
