CONTAINERIZED KITCHEN (WITH TRAILER)
UNIT MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
Exterior Drain Hose Replacement: If a quick-disconnect coupling is damaged or the hose is
cut or cracked, no repair is possible. The hose assembly must be replaced. If a gasket is
damaged, remove it from the coupling using long nose pliers and replace it with a new one.
Fabric Side Removal/Replacement Procedures:
NOTE
For removal/replacement of the fabric side, three to four soldiers are required. The
following tools (if available) will greatly ease the time required for the replacement of the
fabric sides: 4 punches or awls, and a screwdriver or screw gun with a #3 Philips Head
Bit.
Fabric Side Removal:
1. The shelter wing (1) (see Figure 7) must be fully lowered and supported by wing jacks. If the
CK is packed out, all appliances may remain where they are tied down. If the CK is set-up for
operation, all appliances must be moved to the opposite wing. Remove the shelter arch
components from the fabric side to be replaced. Refer to WP 0006 00 and only follow the
processes to remove the shelter arch components. Place the frame components inside the
shelter out of the way.
2. Starting at either end and along the edge of the shelter wing (1) (see Figure 7), remove and
retain the screws and mounting strips that secure the fabric to the wing. Remove only the top-
mounting strip along the wing that secures the fabric, not the lower strip that secures the black
rubber seal. Repeat the process along the entire length (2) (see Figure 7) and ends of the CK
wing. After all hardware has been removed, pull the fabric away from the wing edge. The fabric
may be bonded with sealant to the wing edge; if this is apparent, some force may be needed to
pull the fabric loose from the wing edge.
